Club Obituary
John Tarbuck 1933-2025
John Tarbuck was a member for over 40 years. During his time at Arrowe he was Captain, then Captain of Captains and finally Life President for the last 15 years or so. He served on the committee most of his time where he held the post of Treasurer and assisted on most sub committees. He was a well liked member he had time for anybody and nothing was too much trouble. We have the John Tarbuck trophy which was formerly an Open competition but is now an internal competition with both a nett and Gross winner. John was a true member dedicated to Arrowe Park through and through. He will be truly missed.

Very sad news indeed Paul , RIP John
Bill Benson - Club Captain
John, a member of the club for over 50 years, served on all committees, was captain not only of Arrowe Park but also of the Merseyside Municipal Clubs, and President of the Arrowe Park G.C.. He was generous with his time in support of the club, and was very popular. He and his wife, Jess, had been members of Bidston G.C. prior to joining APGC. He was the only live member to have a competition named after him, the John Tarbuck Open. I have lost a good friend of 40 years.

John was one of the most generous members in giving his time. He would help anyone who asked and offer help to anyone who looked like they might need it. He was also extremely dedicated to Arrowe Park GC. A nicer guy you couldn’t hope to meet. He’ll be sorely missed. RIP John, god bless.
Dave Mulrooney - Captain Elect

One of the standout members when I joined who made me feel like I was welcome, played with John many times and loved the way he could still draw his drive well in to old age. Hopefully the J Tarbuck will grow and grow so he’s never forgotten.
